Overall it's put me in a better place for finding a job in the industry and I feel like I have a solid foundation to build on. I think at times its a little overwhelming but I didn't make use of the tutor support or slack channels as much as I should... Read More have early on. When I did start using them they were really good. The slack community is great. The only thing I think the course was lacking was the JS was vanilla and I think something like react would make us much more employable, I think this is being implemented. The main reason I took this course was so I could try and get a job in the industry and I have found that difficult (coupled with lack of jobs due to covid). Although there is a module on careers I didn't find it overly helpful and I wasn't aware of any additional support provided. However when I reached out to Student Support they directed me to Jane, who is the director of Employer Engagement who is a real credit to Code Institue. She has some great advice and resources. She also helped me with just some general support on how to apply for jobs (which is a skill in itself). I would highly recommend getting in touch with student support(even if you don't know what your doing wrong). I contacted them after I finished the course and I have now secured my first role in the industry.

Although I am an experienced software engineer, I've had limited experience building websites. I've occasionally looked at online materials but never found the motivation to go full throttle. I took this 6-week course and learned a wealth of information in a short time. As a professional software engineer, I picked up concepts quickly. I now have the skillset and tools to build any website I can think of. One amazing aspect about this course is that you don't need prior experience. All other students in the class were newbies, and they were able to learn the skills and build websites as well. Thanks Fiaz Sami: you did a great job!

Code Remote was an excellent experience that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to get started quickly in web development. The curriculum focuses on hands-on work; the teaching format offers the essentials necessary to get started, then pushes students... Read More into exercises that put concepts into action. This is a fast-moving program that requires your full attention for 8-12 hours per day, but I'm amazed at how much we accomplished in six short weeks. I was part of the first Code Remote cohort in April 2018, and was continually impressed by the level of commitment and thoughtful course design that Fiaz Sami brings to the program.

CodeRemote was an interesting experience for me. Instead of being bombarded with theory, we would learn something and apply it immediately, which allowed us to gain experience right away whilst simultaneously demystifying the process. Fiaz, the teacher is also great at what he does. He provides you with a strong toolset to be RESOURCEFUL and easily figure out the answer to your questions. To anyone looking to get exposed to and applying the information and practices that actually matter instead of mentally masturbating to theory, do yourself a favor and take this course!
