Instead of spending time on theory, the curriculum discusses the ML models' motivation and intuition, emphasising their strengths, weaknesses, tips and pitfalls. It's very much a practical and hands-on course, at times equally challenging and satisfying. Plus the teaching team (instructor + TAs) are prompt and supportive in helping us with assignments and course materials, and other troubleshooting.

One thing that really stuck with me was the emphasis on problem solving skills rather than just knowledge of the different libraries. Lead Instructor Min Yan used the example that if there was a "one-size-fits-all" model, then ML Engineers wouldn't be in demand - the company just needs that one model for everything. ML Engineers are there not only to implement programs, but use their knowledge to figure out which models are the best to apply. I would wholly recommend this course to anyone interested in Machine Learning as I believe it is one of the rare courses out there that gives the most bang for one's buck.
