I lost my job due to the pandemic and massive layoffs, and was looking for a new area of work that wouldn't be undermined by yet another wave of something. Read More professions in osmi pro as well as the fact that they help you decide which one fits you best. While I was making that decision I enrolled for master classes in two fields and finally made my choice. What I liked about osmi pro is that they really deliver results. First thing they give you a personal mentor who accompanies you up to the point where you find a job in the chosen field. That also includes helping with interviews. The training is divided as follows: theory — video tutorials — practice, practice, and some more practice — weekly meetings with the mentor. There was really a lot of practice, and it helped a lot in getting a job. I didn't act dumb at the interview and did the test task efficiently. I won't deny it, it was still really hard at times. But I think it's only natural when you completely change your career path :) :) :) One could always discuss the difficulties in a chat with other students, and there I felt like I'm not alone in the cruel IT world :) Now I'm working from home and I get twice as much as I did at my previous job. Well... I think the hard parts were worth it after all :)

Read More I could think of was money and the fear of getting fired anytime soon. And I was also trying to figure out how to get the former while avoiding the latter as soon as possible: a year, tops, definitely not three or five years as it is with college. I took free courses after work, watched educational videos on YouTube, tried to figure everything out myself, but one night I decided to go big and buy a fully fledged course. Can you imagine how scary it was to wire all my savings as the first installment payment? I can :) I'm glad that in the end I had enough guts, and that my wife supported me. We both believed our life would change when I got that training. Spoiler alert: it did :) I studied in osmi pro for about a year, mostly at weekends, but all day long (on weekdays I was already exhausted by lunch even without evening classes). It's cool the course is designed to get you to submit your assignments on time. And nobody really cares when you choose to read or watch stuff. I also liked the format of cheat sheets one could read on the go or before going to bed: they summarised a whole lecture and you didn't have to dig through the video recording or take notes. It's easy to study when you are motivated. In osmi pro, studying was even easier because everyone, from the students to the teachers, supported each other. I've been working as a junior specialist for a couple of months now. Our financial situation is improving. I work from home, so I can spend more time with my family. It's not always a good thing, of course, but still... :) :) :) :)
